A look at the deadliest Russian attacks on Ukraine this year
Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine, with the deadliest incident occurring on August 29th when a drone struck a warehouse in Myla, west of Kyiv, killing at least 37 people. Ukrainian authorities stated the warehouse may have been illegally storing munitions, leading to explosions that impacted surrounding homes, including a care facility. Earlier deadly attacks include a July 2nd drone and missile barrage on Kyiv that killed 31, a May 14th attack on the capital resulting in 24 deaths, and a July 6th strike in the Kyiv region that killed at least 22. These attacks highlight Ukraine's need for improved air defenses and interceptor missiles.
