Fourteen killed in strike on Myanmar monastery
Fourteen people were killed in military air strikes on a monastery in Myaung township, Sagaing region, Myanmar, early on Friday. Civilians, including elderly individuals aged 50 to 70, had gathered at the monastery for a meditation retreat to mark Buddhist Lent. A rescue worker reported that the site was struck twice, with the second strike occurring while people were attempting to rescue survivors. Opposition fighters stated that the victims included 11 men and three women. The Myanmar military has not yet commented on the incident.
