UK’s Mandelson asked to cooperate in Epstein probe by US Congress

Former UK ambassador Peter Mandelson has been asked by the US House Oversight Committee to cooperate with their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activities. Representatives Garcia and Subramanyam sent a letter to Mandelson in February 2026, stating he possesses "critical information" due to his "extensive social and business ties" to Epstein. The committee seeks to uncover Epstein's co-conspirators and understand the full scope of his operations. While the committee cannot compel Mandelson to testify, they are requesting a transcribed interview and expect a response by February 27, 2026. Mandelson was removed from his ambassadorial role in September 2025 following concerns about the extent of his relationship with Epstein.
