Pakistani nurse to be honoured for saving newborn from deadly hospital fire
Pakistani nurse Razia Noreen will receive a prestigious civil award for her bravery during a hospital fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad on Wednesday. Noreen rescued the only surviving newborn from a nursery fire that tragically killed 14 other infants. CCTV footage shows Noreen entering the burning nursery and emerging with the baby, attempting to re-enter but being prevented by flames and smoke. She stated she was simply doing her duty and expressed heartbreak over being unable to save the other children due to the rapid spread of the fire.
