UK PM Burnham launches bid to help homeless, donating 15% of his wages

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has launched a new initiative to address homelessness, aiming to provide rough sleepers with housing solutions by Christmas. Announced on Wednesday, the plan includes significant government funding and a personal commitment from the Prime Minister. Burnham pledged to donate 15% of his £180,000 annual salary to homelessness causes. His government is allocating an additional £442 million to support areas with the highest levels of homelessness, providing emergency accommodation and long-term housing support this winter. This initiative builds on Burnham's earlier promise to end rough sleeping, which he made upon replacing Keir Starmer as prime minister a month prior.
