Dozens dead after boat capsizes in north-western Nigeria
At least 46 people have died after a boat capsized in Gorau, Sokoto state, north-western Nigeria. The boat was reportedly carrying over 70 people, predominantly children, who were believed to be traveling to work on a rice harvest. As of Thursday, 46 bodies had been recovered, 16 people were found safe, and 15 remain missing. Security agencies and emergency services are conducting a search operation in the remote and difficult-to-access area.
