Uganda reverses Invictus Games withdrawal after reassurance from King Charles

Uganda has reversed its decision to withdraw from the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham after its military chief, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, received reassurance from King Charles III. Kainerugaba had initially pulled Uganda out, citing a desire to respect the King and concerns about "Harry-Meghan nonsense." However, following a conversation with the King's principal private secretary, Clive Alderton, Kainerugaba announced Uganda's reinstatement. Alderton conveyed that King Charles had no objection to Uganda's participation and encouraged them to proceed. Kainerugaba expressed appreciation for the clarity from Buckingham Palace and confirmed the Ugandan People's Defence Force would resume preparations. Uganda had previously been announced as the 26th nation to join the Invictus Games earlier this year.
