Nordic soccer associations have ‘lost confidence’ in FIFA boss Infantino

Six Nordic national soccer associations, including Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands, have publicly stated they have "lost confidence" in FIFA President Gianni Infantino's leadership. In a joint statement, they expressed significant concern regarding FIFA's governance and decision-making. The associations are united with UEFA and support its proposed measures, particularly demanding binding guarantees against private ownership of FIFA's governance or competitions. This action adds pressure on Infantino, who is facing calls to resign due to backlash over his proposal to sell future World Cup profits to private investors. The Nordic nations also support calls for an independent external investigation into the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal and a review of FIFA's governance framework.

Denmark's football association has also stated its intention to seek an alternative to Infantino in the upcoming presidential election.
