Ireland boycotts Eurovision for second year over Israel’s inclusion

Ireland will not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest for the second consecutive year, following a decision by its public broadcaster, RTE. RTE stated that the country's participation cannot be justified due to the "appalling and ongoing loss of lives in Gaza" and the humanitarian crisis there. This decision aligns with the Netherlands' withdrawal from the 2027 competition, with both broadcasters citing concerns about Eurovision's neutrality given Israel's involvement in the conflict. Eurovision organizers stated they respect Ireland's decision.

Ireland previously joined four other countries in protesting Israel's participation in the 2024 contest.
