French authorities say 4 people have died trying to cross the Channel
French authorities reported that four people died in two separate attempts to cross the English Channel on small boats. Near Dunkirk, three individuals were recovered from a boat and pronounced dead ashore after rescue teams were deployed. In a separate incident off Hardelot late Wednesday, a small boat capsized, resulting in the death of one man and minor injuries to six others, including a child. Judicial investigations have been opened into both incidents to determine their causes.
