Norwegian teenager guilty of travelling to UK to carry out contract killing

A Norwegian teenager, Johannes Kongsnes Natland, 19, has been found guilty of conspiracy to murder after travelling to England to carry out a contract killing. He agreed to shoot an unknown person for €25,000, recruited by the Foxtrot Network, a Swedish organized crime group with alleged links to the Iranian government. Natland was arrested in a hotel room in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, two days after arriving in the UK, with police seizing two guns and ammunition. He claimed he initially thought the plot was a joke or scam, and later intended to injure himself to avoid the assassination. The potential victim has not been identified. Natland will be sentenced in October.
