Secret Service agent and two others arrested for ‘prolonged’ hazing in Miami
A US Secret Service agent, Marquez Christopher Pinder, and two others, Jared Lamar James and Elijah Delano Dyous, have been arrested in Miami for alleged hazing incidents. The arrests stem from an investigation into prolonged beatings with canes and paddles that occurred in April, leaving two individuals hospitalized with severe, potentially fatal injuries. The victims, a University of Miami graduate student and another young man, allegedly failed to answer initiation questions for the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Charges include felony counts of hazing with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and attempted manslaughter. The Miami-Dade county state attorney emphasized that hazing is a crime and highlighted past hazing-related fatalities in Florida. Pinder, assigned to the Secret Service's Miami field office, faces multiple felony charges.
