Algerian bus plunges into ravine killing at least 27

A passenger bus traveling from Setif to Algiers crashed into a ravine in El Karma, northern Algeria, killing at least 27 people and injuring 39. The accident occurred about 50km from Algiers when the bus skidded off the road for unknown reasons. Rescue teams and ambulances were dispatched to the scene, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals. Health Minister Mohamed Seddik Ait Messaoudene warned that the death toll might increase. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune declared three days of national mourning and stated that those responsible would face severe penalties, calling them "road criminals and terrorists."
