NFL champions Seattle Seahawks sold to Khosla Group for record $9.6 billion
The NFL owners have unanimously approved the sale of the Seattle Seahawks to a group led by the Khosla family for a record $9.6 billion. This price tag sets a new NFL record for a franchise sale and is the second-highest valuation in North American sports history. The sale, which was announced on July 11 and officially approved at a meeting in Atlanta on August 26, fulfills the wishes of the late team owner Paul Allen. Vinod Khosla, a venture capitalist and limited partner of the San Francisco 49ers, will relinquish his stake in that team as part of the agreement. The Khosla family, with Neeru Khosla as controlling owner, expressed their commitment to continuing the team's winning tradition.
