Brigitte Bardot’s personal items sell for nearly €1m at auction in Paris

An auction of 285 personal items belonging to French film star and animal rights activist Brigitte Bardot has generated nearly €1 million in Paris. The items, including clothing, furniture, dog collars, and guitars, sold for almost 20 times their estimated value. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for animal welfare and her son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. The auction house Millon reported significant interest from thousands of bidders. Bardot's widower, Bernard d'Ormale, criticized the sale of personal belongings, stating they should have been preserved as her legacy and that Bardot would not have agreed. The foundation countered that the auction was approved by the board when d'Ormale was its president.

Over 280 items from her estate, including mementos from her properties and personal items like a typewriter and ballet shoes, were sold by auction house Millon. The auction, which lasted nearly nine hours, saw every item find a buyer, with around 15,000 people visiting beforehand to view the possessions. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Fondation Brigitte Bardot and her son. Bardot, who died in December 2025 at age 91, was known for her film career and later dedicated herself to animal welfare.
