Ebola cases surpass 8,000 as DRC struggles to control outbreak

Karondwa, acting president of the UDPS party’s federal executive committee in the city, was attacked after participating in a radio program discussing the Ebola outbreak and promoting prevention measures. His party stated that attackers beat him, stole his belongings, and set his house on fire, leading to his death from injuries. The motive and perpetrators remain unclear, but the party believes he was targeted for defending the party's stance on the Ebola virus. This incident follows a pattern of attacks on healthcare workers and treatment centers, fueled by misinformation and distrust surrounding the disease.
