Estonia blames Russia for arson attack on drone maker supplying Ukraine

Estonia has accused Russia's security services of commissioning an arson attack on a drone manufacturer in Tallinn in August that supplied Ukraine. The Baltic state's foreign minister stated that the attack was an act of sabotage and part of a broader Russian campaign to intimidate European nations and weaken support for Ukraine. Three Latvian suspects were detained and handed over to Estonia in connection with the incident. European and NATO leaders have expressed full support for Estonia and Ukraine, condemning the attack as unacceptable and a dangerous escalation. Russia has denied the allegations, calling them unfounded. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about Russian hybrid warfare and sabotage attempts across Europe.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that the perpetrators have been apprehended and that the attack was an act of sabotage by Russian special services, aimed at intimidating Estonia and weakening its support for Ukraine. The company supplies unmanned ground vehicles to Ukraine. Estonia summoned the Russian ambassador following the incident. The Kremlin, through spokesman Dmitry Peskov, rejected the allegations as baseless and lacking reality. NATO chief Mark Rutte commented that Russia is conducting a campaign of hostile actions against NATO allies to undermine support for Ukraine.

Estonia's internal security service, Kapo, has blamed Russia for an arson attack at a defense company that supplies Ukraine.
