Intensified Russian strikes are tearing Kyiv apart, warns mayor
Kyiv's mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, has described the city as being in a "very dramatic situation" due to intensified Russian strikes targeting critical infrastructure. These attacks have led to the suspension of metro and automobile traffic on one of the capital's main transport arteries, the bridge across the Dnipro River, causing significant delays. Restrictions are also in place on two other key bridges. One person was killed when a residential building was hit overnight. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia's actions, including attacks on bridges and other infrastructure, are intended to destroy essential services and force residents to flee. Russian President Vladimir Putin claims these strikes are a response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian economic targets.
