The co-pilot of FlyDubai Flight FZ1073, Hamam al-Hammami, allegedly planned to crash the Israel-bound jet into Ben Gurion Airport. According to reports citing Saudi and Emirati investigations, al-Hammami intended to proceed to Israel, gain airport clearance, and then intentionally crash the aircraft. The incident occurred when al-Hammami attacked the captain with a crash axe in the cockpit, attempting to take control of the plane. Passengers intervened, leading to the flight's diversion to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely. UAE authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances and motives behind the alleged terrorist act.
