Hurricane Trudy menaces Mexico’s Pacific coast and Greece hit by deadly floods
Hurricane Trudy, the 22nd named storm in the Pacific, weakened to a tropical storm after posing a threat to Mexico's Pacific coast. Coastal areas of Jalisco, Michoacán, and Colima were under hurricane warnings for strong winds, heavy rain, and storm surge, but the worst conditions remained offshore. By Monday morning, Trudy had downgraded, and warnings were lifted. Separately, deadly floods in Greece, caused by heavy rain and thunderstorms, resulted in one fatality on the islands of Rhodes, Evia, and the Sporades. In Turkey, severe flooding in Istanbul and surrounding provinces led to five deaths, school closures, flight delays, and the evacuation of thousands.
