9 to 5

The concept of "9 to 5" is currently newsworthy due to the upcoming Broadway musical, "Dolly: A True Original Musical," which celebrates the life and career of country music icon Dolly Parton. This musical, set to open in winter, features music and lyrics by Parton herself and is described as a journey through her life. While Dolly Parton is a celebrated singer-songwriter and philanthropist, the recent news of her passing at age 80, as announced by her nephew, has brought renewed attention to her legacy. The musical's premiere, coinciding with her 81st birthday, highlights her enduring impact on music and culture. The original "9 to 5" film, released in 1980, starred Parton alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, and its themes of workplace equality continue to resonate, further amplified by the musical's debut.
