Baidu is preparing for fully remote-controlled operations in the city, indicating progress in some regions. These developments show that while AVs are advancing technologically and seeing increased testing and deployment in certain areas, significant safety hurdles, particularly concerning unexpected environmental factors and emergency response, still need to be addressed before widespread adoption.
