Bundibugyo virus disease

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda a "public health emergency of international concern." This declaration follows reports of over 300 suspected cases and 88 deaths. The majority of these cases are in the DRC, with only two reported in neighboring Uganda. Efforts to contain the virus in eastern DR Congo are being complicated by factors such as conflict, delayed detection, and mistrust among the population.
