Recent developments highlight China's advancements in extracting caesium through innovative and environmentally friendly methods. A 500-tonne production line in Jiangxi province, the first of its kind globally, has begun stable production of caesium and rubidium from lithium waste. Concurrently, Chinese researchers have developed a new technique to extract caesium from brine. These breakthroughs are significant as they aim to reduce China's reliance on imported ores from countries like Canada and Australia, potentially bolstering its domestic supply of this vital strategic resource.
