Recent reports indicate that at least 15 elephants have died in southern Kenya, primarily within or near Amboseli National Park, over a four-week period between late June and late July. The leading theory is that the elephants ingested toxic tomatoes sprayed with pesticides from nearby farms. Some of the affected elephants exhibited signs of paralysis before succumbing.
