US sets up task force to combat birth tourism, revokes more than 600 visas

The Trump administration has established a task force to combat "birth tourism." This initiative follows the Supreme Court's rejection of an attempt to restrict birthright citizenship. The US State Department, in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security, announced the creation of the Birth Tourism Prevention Task Force. The task force's stated goal is to defend the integrity of US citizenship and ensure non-immigrant visas are used for lawful purposes, preventing their exploitation by birth tourists. As part of this effort, more than 600 visas have been revoked from foreign nationals globally.
