Iran war live: Tehran prepares conditions to open Strait of Hormuz

Reporting from Beirut, LebanonIsraeli air strikes targeting the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon have killed one woman and injured six others.Two strikes hit the town of Arab Salim, and a drone attack hit the town of Naqoura. This comes after the Israeli army accused Hezbollah of launching two drones at the Ali Taher area. In a statement, the Israeli military says it will continue to act forcefully against Hezbollah.The Israeli military has also been carrying out air strikes targeting a residential area in the town of Arab Salim, and there are reports of civilian casualties.Villagers had returned to their homes in recent weeks, hoping that the reduction in violence would continue as a result of the ceasefire, but what we’ve been seeing in recent weeks are these waves of violence.Just 12 days ago, the Israeli military carried out strikes on two towns – Kfar Kila as well as Ansar – killing up to 11 people, among them children.The Israeli military says these attacks are in retaliation for Hezbollah targeting its forces. They say that, overnight, Hezbollah used two armed drones to target its forces; there were no casualties.The area where they accuse Hezbollah of launching those drone attacks is the Ali Taher ridge, very much contested territory.The Israeli military says it won’t leave the area, as they believe there are underground facilities there as well. The area is south of the Litani River, and Hezbollah is not obliged under any agreement to disarm from it, so this conflict is far from over.
