Iran war live: Trump confirms ‘very good’ meeting with Iran at UN

And this is significant as well because they have been affected, of course, by this conflict.Even though they have, in many cases, US bases on their own soil, this was supposed to be the security guarantee that hasn’t been, after all, that secure.This is the tension that the United States is experiencing right now with its Gulf allies.So, regional security as well as semi-paralysed commercial shipping was the other big focus. And we know that Qatar presented a proposal in order to try and resolve these immediate security and shipping concerns. But, again, no breakthroughs.Instead, what the US president said when he emerged from those meetings was about Iran, again presenting that binary choice that he mentioned in his UN General Assembly speech, namely that it needs to choose whether or not it should accept a deal that would allow for a breakthrough and for new opportunities, or face annihilation.
