Amnesty International calls for abolition of ICE in report documenting rights violations

Amnesty International has called for the abolition of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in a report released on Thursday. Titled "We Had Whistles, They Had Guns," the report documents widespread human rights violations occurring during ICE's large-scale operations. This call for abolition follows recent incidents that have reignited anger over the agency's methods. Less than a week prior to the report's release, a Venezuelan migrant was shot and wounded by an ICE agent in Austin, Texas. Earlier in the year, the deaths of two Americans, shot by federal agents in Minneapolis, also sparked national outrage.
