ICE detains two more students from Liam Ramos’s school, officials say

ICE has detained two brothers, a second and fifth grader, from the same Minnesota elementary school as Liam Ramos, the five-year-old who is also in ICE custody. The brothers and their mother, who has a pending asylum case, were detained on Thursday and transported to a detention facility in Texas. The mother was initially detained during a court appointment for her immigration case. She then contacted school officials, stating she had no other family to care for her sons and requested they be brought to her at the Whipple federal building. School officials escorted the boys to the detention center to reunite them with their mother, expressing distress over the situation. The family has not been publicly identified.
