US Section 301 trade investigations

The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has launched new trade investigations under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, potentially leading to new tariffs. These investigations follow a Supreme Court decision striking down previous tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. One investigation targets alleged excess manufacturing capacity across at least 60 economies. The USTR opened the investigation for public comment.
