Six fuel ships bound for Australia cancelled as Bowen concedes ‘flow of oil to Asian refineries has slowed’

Six oil shipments destined for Australia from Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea have been cancelled or deferred, according to Energy Minister Chris Bowen. The shipments were originally scheduled to arrive next month. Bowen acknowledged that the conflict involving Iran has created an uncertain environment affecting the flow of oil to Asian refineries. The federal government is actively working to replace the cancelled shipments, with some substitutions already secured. While acknowledging the situation, the government is not currently considering drastic measures. Bowen stated that the government is undertaking preparatory work to address the supply disruption.
