Israeli military warns of inbound missiles from Iran, says anti-missile defences active

Israel’s military warned late on Tuesday that Iran had fired a new salvo of missiles towards the country and that anti-missile defences were active after a day of more than a dozen missile alerts.Following the warning, sirens sounded in Jerusalem and a blast was heard in the city, while a loud explosion was also heard in the skies over the West Bank city of Jericho, Agence France-Presse correspondents said.“A short while ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” the Israeli military said on Telegram.The Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services said on Telegram that “following the shooting at the State of Israel: At this stage, no casualties are known”.“MDA medics and paramedics went out to treat a man who was injured” on the way to shelter, it added.By late on Tuesday, the Israeli military had issued more than a dozen alerts warning of incoming Iranian missiles since midnight.
