Japan jails ex-teacher for sharing voyeuristic student images

A former teacher in Japan, Katsuya Ishikawa, was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday for taking and sharing indecent images of his students on social media. The Nagoya District Court delivered the sentence to Ishikawa, who taught at a junior high school in Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture, at the time of his arrest in September. This marks the first prison sentence for a member of an alleged teachers' voyeurism ring that was exposed last year. Judge Kyoko Irie noted that Ishikawa shared photos including the victims' faces, increasing the risk of wider distribution and further harm. The case has gained significant attention in Japan.
