Hong Kong authorities have issued a safety recall for a specific model of Zwilling electric kettle (model 53005) due to a potential handle defect. The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department announced the recall on Thursday, warning that the kettle's handle may detach. This defect poses a risk of scalding as hot water could spill. Consumers who own this model are advised to stop using it immediately and contact the supplier, Cheong Hing (1917) Company Limited, at 2687 5879 to arrange for a refund. The supplier confirmed that in a small number of instances, the handle has loosened or broken.
