Hongkonger held in Japan over molesting teen, suspected to be repeat offender

A 42-year-old man identifying as a Hong Kong resident was arrested in Sapporo, Japan on Monday for allegedly molesting a teenage girl on September 4th of last year. The man, who reportedly holds both British and Chinese nationality, is suspected of approaching the girl on the street and inappropriately touching her. The victim, who was not acquainted with the suspect, reported the incident to police after he approached her and spoke in broken Japanese. Police identified the man through security footage and interviews following the report. Authorities suspect he may be involved in other similar offenses in Japan.
