US sanctions Mahan Air’s China network over alleged support for Iran’s IRGC

The United States has sanctioned two China-based companies and a Chinese executive for allegedly supporting Iran's Mahan Air. Washington described Mahan Air as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' preferred airline for transporting weapons, military personnel, and equipment. This action on Thursday follows similar measures taken the previous day against businesses linked to mainland China or Hong Kong, expanding the US pressure campaign beyond Iranian oil to aviation, travel, and cargo services. The US Treasury Department stated that Shanghai Wings International Logistics Co. acted as a general sales agent for Mahan Air and facilitated the transport of electronics from China to Iran.
