Carfreitag, or "Car Friday," is an annual event held on Good Friday in Germany where car tuning enthusiasts gather to showcase their modified vehicles. This event has become newsworthy due to the increased police presence and heightened scrutiny of vehicles for illegal modifications and racing activities. Recent reports indicate that thousands of car fans traveled to locations like the Nürburgring for Carfreitag. Police conducted extensive checks, resulting in numerous violations being discovered. In the Harz region, for example, out of 267 vehicles inspected, 89 were found to have issues, and 16 were speeding. While the event in Harz was described as generally peaceful, the high number of violations highlights the ongoing relevance of Carfreitag as a focal point for illegal car modifications and the associated police efforts to enforce regulations.
