Gateway

Gateway was a planned lunar orbital station, intended as a staging point for lunar missions and potentially future Mars expeditions, involving international collaboration including the European Space Agency (ESA). NASA has recently announced a suspension of the Gateway project. This decision represents a strategic shift in NASA's lunar program, prioritizing the establishment of a permanent base on the Moon's surface.
