LEAP East

LEAP East, the Middle East's flagship innovation and technology exhibition, has made its Asian debut in Hong Kong. The event, which concluded after drawing over 25,000 visitors, signifies Hong Kong's affirmed role as a global hub for innovation and technology. The city has secured a three-year deal to be the exclusive Asian host for LEAP East, highlighting its strategic importance in the international tech landscape. Among the showcased technologies were hybrid AI and advanced materials developed through the recent merger of the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) and the Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI). This collaboration between ASTRI and NAMI, finalized in April 2026, is already yielding tangible results, demonstrating the synergistic potential of combining artificial intelligence with cutting-edge materials science. The successful hosting of LEAP East underscores Hong Kong's commitment to fostering technological advancement and its growing influence in the global I&T sector.
