Ain Qana

Ain Qana is a village located in Southern Lebanon. It has recently become newsworthy due to Israeli military strikes targeting the area. These strikes, reported on February 2, 2026, destroyed buildings in Ain Qana, along with Kfar Tebnit, and were justified by the Israeli military as targeting "Hezbollah infrastructure." These attacks are occurring despite a supposed ceasefire, and are part of a larger surge in Israeli air attacks on Lebanon. The increased frequency of these attacks, with over 50 raids in January 2026 alone, marks the highest level since the ceasefire, raising concerns about escalating conflict and regional stability. The Norwegian Refugee Council has described the situation as a "clear and dangerous" surge.
