Anefis

Anefis is a town located in the northern region of Mali. It has recently become a focal point of conflict as the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), a Tuareg-led armed group, announced a new offensive to capture it. This offensive is part of a broader rebel campaign targeting several major towns across northern Mali, including Gao and Sévaré. The FLA's stated goal is to capture Anefis, which is reportedly a location where Malian government forces and Russian fighters are based. The group's spokesperson, Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadane, confirmed the targeting of Anefis via a Facebook post.
