Several Asian countries are grappling with an energy crisis due to disruptions in global fuel supply, specifically a 20% reduction caused by conflict in the Middle East. As a result, many are turning to coal as a short-term alternative energy source. This situation highlights the vulnerability of Asian economies to global energy market fluctuations. Separately, Hong Kong is actively pursuing a strategy to become an international education hub. More than half of Hong Kong's semi-private schools have applied to increase class sizes and student numbers to admit more non-local pupils. This initiative reflects Hong Kong's ambition to attract international students and bolster its position as a regional educational center. The Education Bureau has reported an enthusiastic response to the invitation for Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS) schools to participate, indicating strong support for the city's education hub push.
