Bates County, Missouri, is a location in the midwestern United States, south of Kansas City. It recently became the site of a tragic aircraft accident. On a Sunday, a private plane carrying 11 skydivers and a pilot crashed shortly after departing from Butler Memorial Airport. All twelve occupants of the plane were killed in the incident. The crash occurred near Business 49 Highway, prompting a response from multiple emergency agencies. The event has drawn significant media attention due to the high number of fatalities and the nature of the flight, which was reportedly for a skydiving outing.
