BR-373 highway

The BR-373 highway, located in the southern Brazilian state of Paraná, has recently been the site of tragic accidents. Two separate head-on collisions involving a bus and a truck have resulted in significant loss of life. In one incident, at least 23 people were killed and five injured when a bus carrying patients and healthcare workers collided with a truck near the city of Ipiranga. In another, at least 21 people died and four were injured when a minibus, reportedly belonging to the health authorities of Imbituva and transporting patients, crashed with a lorry. These events highlight current safety concerns on this stretch of highway, underscoring its immediate relevance due to the severe consequences of these recent crashes.
