Broad Peak

Broad Peak, a prominent mountain in the Karakoram range of northern Pakistan, is currently the site of a significant mountaineering incident. Ten international climbers, led by the renowned Nepal-born mountaineer Nirmal Purja, are feared missing following an avalanche. The incident occurred around midday on Thursday at an altitude of approximately 8,047 meters (26,400 ft). Purja is known for his mountaineering achievements, including being part of the first all-Nepalese team to scale Mount K2 in winter. The Alpine Club of Pakistan has received initial reports of the avalanche and subsequent loss of communication with the expedition team. This event has garnered international attention due to the high profile of the climbers involved and the inherent dangers of high-altitude mountaineering on peaks like Broad Peak.
