Camp Taum Sauk

Camp Taum Sauk is a summer camp located in south-eastern Missouri. The camp recently became newsworthy due to severe flash flooding caused by heavy rainfall in the region. On Friday, over 200 children and staff members were airlifted to safety from the camp. This evacuation was necessary as nearby roads were washed away, trapping the campers. Additionally, approximately 20 individuals were rescued from a collapsed campground building. Tragically, the flooding in Crawford County also resulted in the death of Faith Gregory, whose home was swept away. The events highlight the significant impact of extreme weather on the camp and its attendees, underscoring the importance of emergency preparedness and response in such situations.
