Gorkha district

Gorkha district, located in central Nepal, has recently been the site of significant natural disasters, primarily flash floods and landslides. These events have led to houses being swept away and a number of people reported missing. In one incident in Chumnubri village, a landslide occurred, contributing to the ongoing crisis. The Budhi Gandaki River also burst its banks, inundating areas and damaging infrastructure, including a hydropower station. Approximately 50 people were rescued from the riverbanks. While no casualties have been reported in the most recent flood event, five individuals remain missing. These occurrences highlight the vulnerability of the region to extreme weather events, especially following previous devastating floods in the country. The authorities are urging residents to relocate to safer areas as a precautionary measure against further risks.
