Grisons

Grisons, also known as Graubünden, is a canton located in the south-eastern Swiss Alps. This region has recently been the scene of significant tragic events. In late Thursday afternoon, a tourist coach carrying 48 Dutch passengers overturned between Susch and Zernez, resulting in several fatalities and injuries. A large-scale rescue operation involving helicopters was immediately deployed. More recently, a fire completely destroyed a restaurant with apartments in the town of Thusis. This blaze has left five people missing and eight others injured, with investigations into its cause underway. These incidents highlight the challenges and dangers present in the mountainous terrain and communities of Grisons, drawing national and international attention to the region due to these unfortunate events.
