Hakuba Valley, located in Nagano prefecture, Japan, is a well-known and popular ski destination attracting tourists from around the world. It has recently gained media attention due to two separate fatal incidents involving Australian tourists. The first incident involved an eight-year-old girl who died in a snowmobile accident. The second incident concerned a 22-year-old woman who died after her backpack became caught in a ski lift at Tsugaike Mountain Resort, a part of the Hakuba Valley area.
